Yo: and by reacting with Oxygen it adds the mass of the oxygen.

Simple: Ironoxide is a larger molecule than iron itself and it is heavier.

Rusting is a chemical reaction also known as oxidation. The base metal gives up electrons and loses material. Since material is lost, the weight is less.

It would weigh less after rusting. Probably because there is less metal and what is there is less dense.
