she just needs to suckle. she'd be doing more than just making noises if she was hungry.

She probably just needs to suckle if she was hungry she would cry. Please don't listen to people critisize you for giving her a pacifier, yes some children still use them at 3 but not all. My children (I have 4) all used a pacifier and all of them stopped using them by 6 months. As they get older they lose that need to suckle so you start to wean them off. But some babies have more of a need to suckle and there is absolutely nothing wrong with giving them a pacifier. By the way if your baby is hungry and you give her a pacifier it will only satisfy her for a little while and then she will cry, so please do not feel as though you are letting her go hungry.

Just needs to suckle.. Don't giver the pacifier.. That is the worst thing that you could do.. Have you seen those 3 yr olds with a pacifier in their mouth?? This is how it all begins!! Good luck to you

In my experience if you give a pacifier to a hungry baby it will only help for a short time.
