I know that this maybe a generalized question, but sometimes when I talk to white people are have a disagreement with them, they automatically get on the defense like about about to go off or something.

I'm an easy going on person and when I get that reaction , I'm like whoa.

Again, I'm not generalizing I'm just stating a fact that I've experienced. BTW - this is a common thing. When people start realizing the stereotypes then it maybe a chance that we can overcome racisim

Also, I have a problem with people in general that says - I love everybody and I don't have a problem with people no matter what their race is. To me thats a canned response. Overall, I'm a good natured person but I have said some prejudice things about people. It doesn't make it right but it makes me a real person to admit that I'm wrong.

Thanks xpus for your honest opinion.

- Also who nominated Jackson and Sharpton as our black leaders. Truthfully, I think that they are piggy-back riding off of MLK. There hasn't been a strong black leader sense him.

well, no offense to anyone, but sterotypes exist for a reason...and they arent true to everyone, but enough people to the point where it becomes such a generalization. but when it comes to cross cultural matters, different people act differently around others... (ie. a white person would probably act different around another white person, than they would a black person, and vice versa...)

Okay I'll be honest with you. Yes. Black people are always the ones to cry and whine when racism is thrown at them. But in this day of age white people put up with more.

Lets take Dave Chapelle as an example. Heres a guy that praised Sharpton and Jackson (I think once on his show too) and bashed white people and all races too (but it is comedy and i didnt have a problem with it until this) but then when a white comedian that he works with laughed at him, he runs off crying and goes to Africa screaming racism. Is this fair? its hypocritical.

The reasons whites think blacks are angry is because of the media. Its because of The black "culture" and people liek SHaprton and Jackson.

Now you wanted an honest answer.

Sounds to me like the white people are the angry people. White people think blacks are angry because they know they are fckng over us and we are powerless to stop it. They feel guilty because they know they are privledged because they are white, regardless of what they say. They get mad because they don't want to hear what you have to say because they don't care, because they don't have to deal with those issues in their lives. If you want to have a conversation about society and cultures don't have it with someone white first and foremost because they will never understand what you are going through and really don't give a s h i t. The only people you can effectively have this type of discussion is with someone who shares the same feelings, meaning your own kind. Sorry but that's how it goes.

I think that, some people may have had a unpleasant experience with someone. I personally have friends that are black in the city I live in. My area is predominately black so I know first hand that they are good people. I've met Black people in both Canada and the US I think they are like anyone else.

I know exactly what you mean kind of like if a woman of another race stands up for herself and takes no **** most will consider her a strong woman , if a black woman is the same she becomes the hostile black ***** with a chip on her shoulder and everyone better watch out...

No doubt the same reason why you thing, in general, that white people thing black people are angry in general.

We usually respond to similar situations based on past experience.

No matter what color, height, weight, sex or whatever a person may be. If that is all we know, that is what we associate all similar people to be.

Maybe

Because the people you have been coming in contact with are just ignorant. I know there's a lot of them out there, but it's still not right to generalize.

I have no idea...all I know is that I"m not angry. If I am angry sometimes it has nothing to do with my skin color. I don't think all White people feel that way, I have White friends and we get along great.
