she is allergic to house dust (i have to dust every other day) , animals, a few different weeds. she takes allergy meds on daily basis but still has some reactions to certain allergens during sept-may. we have dr appointment tomorrow. doesn't make sense to go to ER when we would probably sit there for about 8 hrs .

Yea, you did a good job takin her straight to the doctor. There may have been some microbes like protozoa or fungi in the shampoo. It could be some other chemical that was added to her shampoo. Some shampoos like sulfur 8, has chemicals in it to prevent dandruff and stuff, and if it gets into anyother body part, it can have some serious side effects. Tell her to be careful when using shampoo. If it happens again, have her wear goggles to shower. You look retarded, but it does help.

Sounds like a severe allergic reaction. I'm glad she is better now. The ring around her eye is either from her rubbing it or from the tissue being stretched if it was very swollen.
If I get a cat hair in my eye it will swell shut, seep a white stringy discharge and look almost lopsided for about 24 hours.
I wonder if No-More-Tears shampoo would be milder on her eyes.

Sound like she could have "pink-eye". If she has allergies and she got soap in her eye, this leaves her open for "opertunistic pathogens". Injured eye, immune system comprimised, went to school, prob. was exposed to lots of germs there. The medical term is "conjunctivitis". If there had been no pus I would agree with you. I bet you could call your Doc's office and they would call a prescription in for her. She's prob. very uncomfortable. Good Luck!

she is probably allergic to something in the shampoo. my boyfriends mom has very many allergies, and she can't use products with aloe vera in it, or she will break out in hives and her eyes get puffy and red, and it sounds like your daughter has the same or a similiar problem
