go to yellow page and find the real estate agents for the area, or town you are going to, or check some rental web sites, like rent.com, apartments.com, also call the newspaper.
Wyoming is a great state, also called "first state", but life is very different than New York, no huge cities, cold winter long drives.

There is a lot of information at www.jobswyoming.net:

Wyoming is a fairly cheap place to live except the Jackson Hole, WY area because some celebrities have houses there. Also, the boom towns are getting expensive too. Housing is in short supply. You very well may want to buy a camper or RV to start off out there for the first year. I'd consider that very strongly, but check first. I saw a lot of that on the news on television.

PS> If you flunk out, you can always go to Las Vegas. There is a lot of work there too in the casinos and other places.

Find the local newspaper online and start calling around. And this way you'll get an idea of the prices. You can even have the place secured for you with enough faxing and sending a cashier's check for the deposit. The landlord helped me by telling me who to call to get things hooked up. I moved to California this way. I only had to stay in a hotel 3 days before the moving van got there, and everything was hooked up and ready to go!

So anyway, a little research and tons of questions help a LOT to relieve the anxiety of moving to a new place.
