I mean seriously? If your open minded about everything where do you really stand on issues? You cant just jump around. I personally like having my own views on things that I know I will never change. I hear people say they are open minded all the time, but honestly you cant be about everything. Theres religion, politics, sexual preference, and the list goes on. Ive seen so many people say they are open minded but bash religion. Ive also seen religious leaders bash others. I dunno I just dont believe anyone has an open mind to EVERYTHING. If they did they wouldnt be able to think for themselves. Everyone has thier own views that they stand behind. Whats your thoughts?

Yeah, if youre "too open minded", you are a follower. Thats what a lot of people are. You have to have some of your own opinions, otherwise there is no right and no wrong. And that's just not the case.

Being open minded does not mean you believe, or take a stand on a particular issue. One who is opened minded about sexual preference still has the preference they choose, but they accept the preference of others as okay for them.
For religion, one might not believe in God, but they might entertain the idea that it's possible he exists. The same goes for evolution.
It just boils down to accepting the possibility that we may not have all the information necessary to make an informed decision. Nobody is opened minded about everything, it's not possible due to our emotions in extreme situations.

I have an open mind pretty much on any subject but at the same time I have my own beliefs and views on certain things.Being open minded isn't about changing your opinion about things every 5 seconds.It's about being able to see things from another persons perspective,so you can understand a person better,for instance why they behave the way they may,or believes certain things that they may believe,or even act a certain way,while at the same time keeping your own beliefs and views on things.

I am VERY open minded. I have beliefs that I think won't change, but if someone could come up with a compelling enough argument, I know they could. (I used to be pro-life, but an argument was made to me that made me pro-choice. I never thought that would happen.)
Even if they don't change my mind, I have a lot of respect for people's religions, races, sexual orientations, and beliefs. As long as they don't try to force their beliefs upon me (I'm really tired of these Jehovah's Witnesses), then I say live and let live.

Yes, it is a good thing.Being open minded doesn't necessarily mean you can't make up mind about something or that you don't have your own opinion. It just means you are at least will to listen to and consider other's views.

I agree that you can't be open minded to everything. Myself, I'm pretty set in my ways when it comes to religion and sexual preference. However, I'm very open when it comes to different foods, fashion, even some cultural differences as long as the culture doesn't bash my religious views.

being open minded means giving consideration to different views or ways of thinking before coming to a final decision. if you do this u are still open minded, you just don't agree to everything. openminded does not mean you accept everything. i am open minded and it is a good thing. if more people would consider other points of views the world would be a better place.

I think its good to be open minded in the sense that if you are open minded you seek to get informed. A lot of narrow minded people are like that not because they are mean or bad, but simply because they are ignorant and uninformed about a particular issue.

well i would have to say that everyone has a very different mentality, but the ones that claim that are open minded are more open towards all different kinds of issues. i consider myself open minded, but i guess that there would be some issues where i have my limits, and stand of different grounds.
