I found out a week ago I have a cyst on my right ovary. I am going in for an ultra sound to see if it is anything serious or not, but I was wondering if they tell you right then and there what they know, or if they make you wait for a few weeks and have you worry even more before you find out. So, I guess I just want to know if they will tell me before I leave if it is serious or nothing to worry about.

The ultra sound is also being done by my doctor, not by some other doctor or anyone else.

If you're having the ultra sound done AT the doctor's office, there is no reason they can't give you the results right away. I get mine right away.

That depends on whether or not the ultrasound is done in your doctors office or not. If it is done right in the office then the doctor is there to tell you the results. If you have to go to another office to get it done they aren't allowed to tell you anything because if they were to tell you something and it were to be wrong for somereason then they could get in lots of trouble so they protect themselves by making you wait. If you do have to wait you could always call the doctor a day or so after the ultrasound is don't and see if they can tell you anything at that time. GOOD LUCK

yes your doctor will tell you the results. Sometimes ultrasound technicians can give you an idea, but legally they should not. Your ultrasound result will likely be read by a radiologist Usually results are available in couple of days. Most of the times these are not serious. Don't worry, you'll be fine good luck

they can usually tell you right then and there, but not always. They will be able to tell the size and what it is made of (as in liquid or solid).

They may not know what KIND of solid it is at the time, though. They will usually be able to recommend a treatment plan by the end of your visit. It will probably be a "wait and see" treatment plan unless this thing is enormous.

Depends on the test. I had an ultrasound done on my gall bladder, and I found out a couple hours later what was wrong.

It depends on who does your ultrasound. If your doc does it then they will tell you right away if an ultrasound tech does it they probably won't b/c then that's practicing medicine w/o a license.

What you see is what you get. Literally! You see the results right then and there.
