Why do the lions suck? but when they play a good team (as the away team sometimes) they do awsome

yeah i know.....big lions fan....im from woodhaven, michigan....
theyve always been terrible.....but for some reason they play really well against good teams...
i think they need to pick a coach and stick with him.....give him a chance........give him a few years......it seems we have a new coach every year and the players have to learn a new system every fall..........
plus Matt Millen is the worst GM in sports.......hes had some horrible draft picks.....Harrington was the worst no doubt......cant fault him for Rogers....everyone thought he was great....the Mike Williams pick was just dumb.....
Roy Williams and Kevin Jones are studs though......so is Shaun Rogers.....

It's a losing mentality that they have a history of. I truly believe if you moved the Lions out of Detroit, and called them something else they'd improve. They have some real talent, but can't put together a winning season.
Look at what the Saints did that helped them. All new coaching staff, and 50% of last years team is gone. That's a strong move but look at the success because of it. The Lions need that very thing, start by firing Millen.

We, the people of Michigan, must have committed some affront, a past transgression against the football gods for which they plague us with such abysmal results upon the field of play, most likely at the end of the reign of the great but traitorous Barry Sanders. That and the owners suck and can't come up with a good coaching staff or starters or at least stick with those they have long enough to allow them to come together and be consistent.

the lions suck because they cant keep their starters healthy. you saw when they were all healthy they held the sea hawks to field goals but then again that was the pre season. and the two games against the pats and falcons, both of those teams played way out of character, ie turnovers. the lions have a good start with their new head coach and i belive he is the one that is gonna help them turn it around with his old school mentality.
i am a lions fan and i hope that they continue to get better every week

Being from the area I blame the owner of the team and the general manager Millen. The owner couldnt run his auto compnay well so what makes you think he can run a football team? That and the people still support them and he is making money as well as using them for a tax shelter.
Thats just my opinion though.

Because they have Matt Millen running the team. He has made some awful choices in building the team (i.e. 3 WR chosen as their #1 pick in consecutive drafts).

cause they prepare really hard for a good team but when they're over confindent they slack off it's the same with other teams but not the texans they just plain suck i'm from houston and it hurts when the lose to sucky teams

My dad gave up on them years ago, in fact, on Halloween, he wore a lions hoodie and a paper bag on his head while holding a "Lions #1 Fan" sign. That was 3 years ago.
