No, this is not normal. That used to happen to me.. it started once out of nowhere, and after that, i had blood clots like that almost every period. Is there a lot of cramping associated with it? There was with me. I waited a year because I was embarrased to go to the gynecologist, but when I finally went, I found out I was anemic (I didn't have enough red blood cells to carry oxygen to my brain and it made me really tired and pale) and it was because I was losing too much blood through the clots that came through in my period. Wait to see if it continues and if ti does, please don't wait to go get it checked out. Since I waited so long and became anemic, I have to take these gross iron pills to replace that blood, so if it continues, you really need to go get it checked out. ONLY if it continues though... it is perfectly normal every now and then. Periods aren't the most pleasant thing :)

A little bit of clotting is normal (after all, it is blood), but if it's never happened to you before, then go talk to your doctor. It might be a sign or symptom of something else, especially if it hurt more than it normally does.

It's not a muscle; it's a clot. Change your tampon more often. It's normal.

yes it is. I think as long as it didn't have any accompanying symptoms such as pain, vomiting etc.
Now, if you are concerned please see a doctor because most of us here aren't doctors. :) I am just a 38 year old woman who has had what you mention happen. Every now and then the menses is large lot a clot.
Wishing you all the best. :) Don't worry okay?
