We received a chain letter in the mail it stated," that if everyone sends a dollar a piece to each of the six names on the list and then placed your own name on the list and mailed it to two hundred people who then did the same thing. The money would just keep rotating, with each rotation each name rotates down the list until it flips over six times and everybody is rich. It sounds like a scam and probably is but it seems like if everyone did like it says it just may work.Is this legal and does it work?

Please don't fall for it. It does not work. Some pyramid schemes are illegal, other are not. They are all a waste of time and money. Save your dough for X mas.

This is what is known as the old pyramid scheme and it is illegal. I wish all kinds of chain letters were against the law. They're an invasion of privacy, at the least.

Maybe not, or maybe so.....what difference does it make?..... legal or illegal....it's still a scam....son got one 2 weeks ago.....he was excited. He was going to have to put dollars into stamps, envelopes and etc. Surprising they never place a return address on the envelopes...what does this tell you?.....Son wised up (thank goodness)

everything is legal as long as you tell the truth

even going door to door collecting money for yourself is legal since you are the charity

but claiming to collect money for the cancer society and pocketing it is called embezzlement and fraud
