Are they? Funny that, since many of my family are and were, red heads and they had nothing but admiring glances.

I can't believe you asked that question. It sounded really ignorant at first glance. I thought, now this person is a bigot, to ask such a question or think about discriminating against a person because of the color of their hair.

And, then it hit me. While, I am proud of not discriminating against anyone because of their race, or religion, or their sexual interests, ...... I realized that I have a character flaw in regards to my sense of fair play. I do feel uneasy around Red Headed people. Why? I feel like they are arrogant, before they speak and before I know anything about them.

I apologize to all red headed people. I will work on it, but I am an old man (63), I doubt if I will change my prejudice toward you, but I will try not to discrimate against you.

I am old, and I should have a suggestion that would help red-headed people.

Hum? OK , I have one idea: When you meet someone for the first time, quickly discover something nice about that person and ask them a (nice) question about them or their experience.

In short: Don't give them a chance to dwell on the color of your hair. (That is if you feel you are being discriminated against for that reason)

Thanks for the question.

Hmm, I guess I never noticed people being any meaner to me than they are anyone else, but then again, I have other issues that makes me a "minority" besides just my hair.
Most people though, COMPLIMENT me on my hair color. I don't care HOW much hair dye you use, you will NEVER achieve the color of a natural redhead.
And one of the questions I get asked a LOT is, "Is it true what they say about redheads?" and I'm like "They say a lot of things, to which one are you referring?" and they say "Is it true that redheads are wild in bed?" and I just say "I don't know, wanna find out?" lol....anyway, yeah most people, once they get to know me, LIKE me and I have a lot of friends who say they look up to me because I give great advice.
I think your question is really interpersonal, it's not a generalization.

people are mean to everybody. If they claim that it is because of your red hair, it is just an excuse. If your hair was brown, they would make up another reason.

Because they are different and people who are mean to others are just looking for an excuse to be mean to someone, doesn't really matter who.

They're jealous! ;^)

Seriously, I've never noticed that. But there was one red head that was awfully defensive. I just figured he didn't like ME. And so I never bothered to get to know him.

Is it true that redheaded girls are HOT?

Its just another form of discrimination.
I'd like to know why society is against people with curly hair - yoiu see we can all make ourselves victims!!

i think because secretly they are jealous, because redheadedness is quite uncommon, and therefore could be seen as desireable.
I'm envious of them... and yet I also sometimes make fun of them (easy target) but would never do it seriously or in a hurtful way.
