Make sure that they do not have too long of a nap. Have a regular routine for bedtime. A warm bath can tend to relax them and get them ready for bed. Don't let them have too many carbohydrates before bedtime. Lay down next to them and read them to sleep. Model that you are going to sleep too and they will usually fall asleep.

when i was 12 yrs old my grandma taught me a trick on how to put my little brother to sleep... u softly stroke inbetween his eyes up and down.... it worked for me hopefully it mite help you.

tell them to close their eyes. Watch them closley, and retell them to close eyes everytime they open them. If you can get them to close eyes for about 2-3 minutes they will be asleap. Sometimes you have to yell at them to close eyes (scare them).
