Traditionally, no, it is not allowed. However, it is becoming more common. If men allowed is written on the invite, only then is it true. It cannot be assumed that men can come...yet. :-)

"Traditionally" in America, men were not made part of the process of welcoming a new baby. Up until about 30 years ago, men weren't even allowed in the delivery room. Today, the lines are more blurred, and "traditional" ways are moving aside for modern ones. At my daughter's babyshower, we made sure to include the dad and his friends in the plans. This isn't just MY baby, it is BOTH of ours- he should be allowed in on the celebrations too. We included fun games just for the guys (we had a baby bottle chug, where the guys had to drink beer out of baby bottles- it was hilarious!) and had a barbeque menu for the party. My husband still remembers this day fondly, and was glad that he was a part of it with me. So, you can whatever at a party... it doesn't depend solely on what's traditional. What is "traditional" changes with the times anyway... so make it whatever is meaningful to you!

Now more and more have the men at the baby shower. I think it is great that the men are as supportive and happy to greet the baby into the world. When my grandson was on the way everyone was there friends and family I thought it was great that the men were willing to join in. (there was no alcohol there either)

Traditionally, this is true.

Although some modern minded couples have mixed showers. Even wedding showers. I think it's tacky. It's a woman's time to shine and bask in glory one last time...before she becomes a mommy. And, after that generally you come last. Or, at least you aren't first any more.

Let her have her moment. Something to cherish and just have fun with her girlfriends and family.

I don't know if it is traditionally but my hubby was at ours. It's their baby too and I feel that if you're going to expect a man to change a diaper or wipe runny noses the least you can do is include him in the pre-baby party.

Yes, generally only women go to baby showers because it has to do with women and mothering- since men can't relate, people traiditionally didn't accept men going to baby showers.

Yeah it is true. Generally its only a womans party. Unless its spacifically called a jack and jill party, then its for women only.
