I am 20 weeks and 6 days pregnant with my first. I was fine this morning and then all of a sudden as I was sitting and reading, I felt really dizzy. I layed down and closed my eyes, after 5 min. or so, it went away. As I was laying my baby was moving around a lot. Why did this happen?

You blood pressure was probably low, it will do that in the morning especially. It takes me about 3 hours to get functional in the morning. I do fine until i get out of the shower, and then i all but pass out.

At five months your body starts producing an extra 50% of blood, thats a lot of volume to pump around. Its not uncommon for your blood pressure to drop in the mornings, even when you're not pregnant. But especially when you are.

its also not uncommon to feel dizzy when you're pregnant.

You should not however, be passing out, seeing stars, or having more than 6 contractions in an hour, or have fever. All these things can be signs of a problem, and possibly signs of preclampsia.

That happens to me all the time when I'm pregnant. I'm 21 weeks along in my third pregnancy and I still deal with it. It's probably just hormones, but next time you see your doctor make sure you mention it. It could also mean your iron is low, your blood sugar is off, or that you have low blood pressure. Good Luck!

the only answer i have for you is hormones. i get dizzy alot too, but i'm only 8 weeks. at your next appoinment as your doctor. he will be able to give you a better answer. as long as you feel hte baby move its not of a big concern.

Did you eat anthing? It shouldnt be anything serious. You were prolly just a lil weak and outta energy. Maybe a little case of "morning sickness".
