Toothpic trick shown on yahoo videos?

I'm sure you all have seen that trick on yahoo video where there is a star of toothpics, then the guy puts a drop of water in the center and makes the toothpic form a cooler star. How does it work. And How do you set it up.

The Star consists of 5 wooden sticks broken in V-Shape that are arranged in a Star pattern.
Make sure, the stick is not fully broken, but still attached with bent wood.

The water, that drops in the middle will be soaked up at the broken joint. and will try to straighten the broken wood. Thus, the star grows to a seemingly more complex star.
