"The crew and captain had great faith in the well-equipped ship—yes, so much so that when one of the passengers seemed a little uneasy about its safety, a crew member was heard to reply, “Lady, not even God can sink this ship.”

Welp, they were proven wrong. The reason other boats didn't come back is because they feared too many people would try to come on and overcome the boat and it would sink and they would drown.

The titanic was going full speed ahead in an ice field and hit an iceberg. At first people did not want to get into the boats as they thought the "unsinkable titanic" was safe. As the night went on, more and more people started getting into the boats, including the lower classes, whom were locked below decks till the last possible moment. The life boats that did not go back did not do so for several reasons. One of them was they thought the suction was going to pull them down as the great ship sank. The other was they thought that with all the people around the area where the liner sank would swamp the boats. And others simply the passengers had actually voted NOT to go back. And for the one boat that did go back, it went back to late, as only 6 survivors where pulled from the water, of which 1 or 2 died from exposure before they got on the Carpathia. Why? They had waited about 20 minutes, and the human body cannot survive that long in a water temp of about 28degrees.(F)

First of all the Titanic did not sink any unsinkable ship. Titanic sunk after it hit an iceberg and got slivers along it's hull. And secondly if you would spend 10 minutes out of a day in of your life, you have internet access, you would learn more than 1 "boat" came back and more than 700 were saved it was the poor and lower class that died. The rich lived. Sound familiar. You must have gotten an F in history and a D in english. You can spell even if what you asked makes no sense.

Because the others were scared, and selfish.

The ship sunk because the interior hull was punctured and the water got to be too much for the water tight doors. It spilled over the top.

The ships employees were unprepared for that type of accident. Plus, there were only enough life boats for half of the ships occupants. BIG mistake. They ship's designers were so confident in the ship's abilities, they didn't think they needed them. I don't think they were planning on any icebergs.

The life boats were underfilled and the people in them were scared. Plain and simple.

It was truly a tragedy.

It hit an ice burg. They thought if anything got in they could just close the doors but it only could hold 3 compartments of water and 4 were filled. So too late!

There particularly grow to be a iceberg! They felt that by employing dashing up the deliver and attempting to tutor and steer away from it might paintings. however the deliver grow to be scrapped alongside the part and it sunk. they actually would desire to have hit it quickly on, the wear and tear would not have led to the adverse effect.

There was an iceberg, and not enough life boats, as well as people being selfish as the person above said.

well it sank because they hit an iceburg and probably the reason only one lifeboat came back was because it was f'n freezing out there.
