I was perfectly polite and have witnesses to support this. I have problems getting served all the time on the grounds on my disability. Didnt mean to be sexist by saying checkout women. Also banned by tesco cos i asked them to help take the bags to my kitchen! They have banned ALL disabled people!

Okay you need to report this. In Australia we have the Anti Discrimation Board. I am sure that you have something like that in England. Contact them because that is ridiculous behaviour on their behalf.

OK, I don't know where leeds is. This is awful. If this is in America, get a lawyer, NOW.
OK so one in 300 Americans is an attorney, and "we" sue "all" the time.
This sounds like one of the many GOOD reaons we do!!!
Just looked up M at Rothwell... UK, hunh?
I thought you guys were one up on us in socialist, fair principles. Still, hire an attorney. Whatever the laws are, you can either win or force the issue until all of your countrypersons win!

PS I was just wondering if you have a certain system where the caps lock is always on, or if you might turn the letters all into little ones? It does look like shouting... but I can see where using an extra key to create caps could be a pain if your disabilites involve fine motor skills or a device with which I am not familiar.

Good luck!

That is Not part of the Check Outs responsibility. I was "born" from a disabled mother, who Never Ever Expected any Service Person to treat any differently than a physically normal passenger, server, bus attendant, or whatever! You should have been prepared before you enter the Check Out area. Why should I, and other people wait, while you are receiving personalized treatment, if that is what you want, you should hire an Personnel Assistant.

I'm with Crybaby on this. I would say that there was a little more invovled than you politely asking the clerk to pack your bags and her very rudely refusing to and then you being banned from the store. Do you think that maybe you were banned for another reason other than being disabled?

No - they can't legally do that. Consult an attorney. Or better yet - go to your local newspaper.

Addendum : I'm from the US. I'm not sure what the law is for stores outside the US. However, I'd think going to your local newspaper still may get results. No store wants that sort of bad press. They often will change their tune quickly when a newspaper latches onto a cause.

no you have rights just like anyother human being and i think that you should look into the regualtions and rules for a store to ban someone I know that you have to have a legitimate reason and that sounds like discrimination do they have wheel chair accessable ramps in the store or hand-i cap parking? because if so then they have to help you otherwise why have anything that could remotely help a disabled if your not going to follow through. Its like false advertising

Get down to your Citizens Advice Bureau tomorrow. Write the store a strong letter and threaten to go to your Local Press ( Morrisons will probably back down and give you a nice twenty quid voucher to spend). You should definitely follow this up. Failing that go and brick a few of their windows ( always makes me feel better).

No one can be banned just for being disabled. You can talk to a lawyer, but first, be absolutely sure they do not have anyother reason or the lawyer thing may back fire and cause you more grief.

are you sure thats all you did? if it is next time ask a Bobby to go with you and observe, thatll get there attention, here in the states thats discrimination against the disabled, and I'd go back and take my time bagging the stuff and make the other customers wait just to be spiteful

If bagging is a SERVICE they provide to everyone and they didn't bag your stuff, that was illegal. However, if bagging is something the do randomly when they can (like at the one I go to)they lawfully may be allowed to have you do it yourself. But it's a jerky thing to do to someone.
