No I don't. Look at all these angry people on it. Why should I have to accept something that is morally wrong? Oh I get it you are all right and we are wrong. Haven't you ever heard of OPINION? I guess not. They are taking over just like everything else, and I am thinking of moving to an island because I don't want to see it in the movies or anywhere. I don't have to accept it and I will not. Why can't man and man or woman and woman have a child? Hmmm it is man and woman that can. Well I am not the judge. You can hate all you want but there will be people who oppose it everywhere you go and you can't change that period. When my nieces or nephews ask me why two woman are groping each other in public or two men are kissing am I suppose to say oh it is natural.

First, you are brave for saying this. I'll deal with the racist tag in a moment. No, I don't support gay marriage. Most Fortune 500 companies offer same sex benefits, so that is one hurdle overcome. Secondly, although I'm not the least bit religous (shamefully), I don't think you can equat the history of marriage of man and woman with two dudes or two women getting married. I'm not saying they don't love each other, I just don't think a church/state should have to acknowledge. Also, there is a pandora's box opening whenever we consider gay marriage. What about custody of children? Property? Divorce?
They don't seem to care, just want to shove this down society's throat. As for racisms, it's an absolute cannard and they know it. Civil rights leaders cringe when they hear this arugment. It's sickening of course the discrimination that blacks faced. Separate water fountains, police turning fire hoses on them, etc. None of that can be compared to two homosexuals wanting to get married. They can work where they want, live where they want, and there are already hate crime statues in the books to protect them. Gay marriage. No. I'll take the abuse and stand by my--and your--convictions.

Perhaps they didn't mean racist and instead meant prejudice. Gay people aren't a race but are part of our culture.

I support gay marriage on basis that love should have no limits.

A lot of non supporters of gay marriage say so on behalf of the bible: man and woman should only be wed. However, the bible in my opinion is a work of fiction: man has interpreted it and reinterpreted it over and over again thus, not the words of god or Jesus.

The topic of gay marriage not only brings of different beliefs but.. differences of religious belief, it's very complicated and fueled with a lot of hurt, anger, and discrimination.

I respect your view on basis that differences of opinion will always exist. However, based on differences I think it would be fair that some states allow it and some forbid it. That way the larger culture can support differences within.

PEACE

Marriage is between two consenting adults and who cares. The government does tons of stuff I dont find to be moral. Isnt there much bigger stuff to worry about then who gets married? If the Church does not want to allow homosexual marriage I think that is fine but I dont believe the government should interfere between two consenting adults regardless of sexual orientation. Besides, wouldnt it be better for family values to allow them to get married?

Well you're definitely not a racist, but you are probably some kind of bigot. Marriage at least from the standpoint of the law is a civil contract of union between two people. Society gives benefits to married couples. This society also gives equal civil rights to people, so you tell me what is your legal justification for denying two people of the same sex the right to engage in a civil right, the right to contract and to obtain the same benefits that society offers people who get married?

There is frankly no reason to deny same sex marriage--its already been shown that this will not bankrupt benefits plans. Society very often condemns the so-called promiscuous gay lifestyle, but seems to forget that it has caused that lifestyle by denying such things as marriage to gay people. Marriage is commitment and partnership, and should be stabilizing in society. Yet society for some reason does not recognize this desire for stability, while at the same time, allowing serial marriages and divorces in straight people....I always thought that ironic.

Most of the gay couples I know, who are committed enough to marry, have done so with private civil ceremonies and the three couples I know best have been together now for more than a decade each...better than most straight marriages--too bad that they don't have the benefit of their partners automatically inheriting from the other, their partners not being assured of even seeing them at their bedside when dying or their partners being automatically the custodian of their children or the decision maker when one is incapacitated. Seems pretty unfair to me.

Now why? Because some people apparently want to mix religion into the civil contract that the law recognizes--religion has no place in our secular system of law and government. And that's the only basis that is being used to discriminate against same sex marriage.

I am almost positive you can't think of a good non-religion based reason to deny same sex couples the right of marriage....'cause there ain't none.

First of all it's not racism.
And second, i do support it because it's your freedom to do whatever you want. If you can't marry same sex, then takes away part of people's freedom. Besides, why does it bother you if they get married or not? It's not your life, it's theirs, let them live it however they want to. Not supporting gay marriege is a religous thing. And if the US bans gay marriage, then you are taking away part of the first amedment which says you can be any religion you want and practice however you want to as long as you don't break the laws.

I do I believe that people that are gay do not chose to be gay it is just the way they are and it should not be a bad thing. Most people that are gay fight it and date people of the opposite sex just to fit in. So I can see where some people might think they are a race by themselves. They have enough people to fight why should I add to it as long as they do not hate me because I am straight I say let them be married and that way their spouse can receive the benefits that are coming to them.

I certainly DO support it! Who is to say who can love whom? Love is love, no matter how you shake it. Why do people oppose it? It seems like gays have no civil rights in the US. Even in conservative South Africa, Spain, and England all allow it. The New Jersey Supreme Court has decided to allow it there on civil rights grounds. I don't care if someone loves someone else, even if they are green, blue, purple or orange, male or female. This is a free country; why should civil rights be denied to anyone?
By the way, you aren't racist; you're HOMOPHOBIC!
