am 37 weeks pregnant, have had complications the whole pregnancy with pain (severe pain) I am having tons of strong braxton hicks but nothing that sticks and so much pressure in my back and butt i cannot stand it. I see the doc tomorrow, do you think they will induce. At 34 weeks the ultra sound showed lil man was already inhaling and exhaling and since 28 weeks he(sono and stomach measurments) have been measuring a month ahead, Do you think doc will give me hard time.?

I would personally never be induced unless there was a medical reason - ie: baby or my life were in danger. All pregnant moms are in pain the last few weeks - it sucks, don't get me wrong - I was sooo ready to have my daughter and they tried to tell me I was measuring a week or 2 ahead but I know it was cause I'm overweight and they don't have an accurate enough way to truly know.

I would just try to do whatever you can to relax and relieve pressure off your back... maybe sit on your knees and hold onto a chair and have your partner/husband run your back or put a warm pack on it (not hot though, just warm).

My doc advised me they woudl never do early inductions anmd the soonest they think about it in non-medical situations is 41 weeks. I was stuck in early labor for 30 hours and not progressing a day before I was at week 41 so they gave me pitocin and I gave birth that day.

Just remember, that with induction you greatly increase your risk of other problems and you definitely have a higher chance of needing a c-section which takes a lot longer to heal from.

If you do end up getting induced, please find out what they use to induce (ie: cervadil, foley catheter, pitocin, etc.../ Do not let them use soemthing called Cytotec as it is known to cause placental abruption and maternal death - it is marketed as an abortion drug yet some hospitals still use it to induce and it's definitely not safe.

Good luck and I hope your baby decided to come in his or her own time very soon.

It's safe to induce anytime after 36 wks (that's the OB consider fullterm) although technically not till 40 wks are you considered full term. Unless it's life or death they'll probably just check and keep an eye on things. OB usually want you to spontaneous labor/delivery. Also with induction it ups the risk factor for having complications. Your baby will come when they're ready. If your BH is this severe than you'll probably go soon anyway...Good Luck!!!

I went over my due date almost 3 weeks. They induced labor. Why are they not doing this with you, since you are apparently suffering for it. Ask him to induce you because the pregnancy is hard on you and 9 months is enough for the baby to develop properly.

He may help you to set up a date, but a lot of doctors like to wait until the 38th week.

I know how you feel - I had bronchitis and morning sickness when I was 34 weeks along and it just sucked butt. Anytime I coughed, I would gag, so I'd be in this insane loop of coughing, gagging, and throwing up all hours of the day and night for three weeks. I was praying to go into labor early :\

Quite possibly you will be induced but only if the doctor thinks the baby is quite ready. If he doesn't offer - ask him why not. Don't be messed about - remember it is your body and your baby so be firm.
Pregnancy is hard work - so I wish you a very happy result!

Unless your dr thinks its better for mother and baby to have the baby out, then they usually do not induce. But it never hurts to ask.
