Ok, lets work backwards . . . . bacteria have a very easily accessable genome and they are cheap and easy to grow in the lab. Fruit flies reproduce very quickly and have a pretty small genome but are nice to work with. Agricultural models are also easy to manipulate and work with in a lab setting . . . so you figure out the rest.

It's not bacteria. Bacteria have been used for genetic research for a while now. The answer is definitely humans because of all the moral and ethical issues that deal with using humans for genetic research. In addition, humans have a very large genome with 46 chromosomes in a somatic cell and they reproduce very slowly.

Humans, because there are so many ethical issues involved with genetic research on humans. Researches on Bacteria, corn, Fruit Fly and peas is far more easier because there are no ethical issues and because the life cycle of these species are much shorter than humans and because you can get a lot of off springs after each fertilization.

I would say humans...because of the ethical issues and the cycle of course. I would say fruit flies are the best resource for the genetic research due their fast life cycle; thus mutations are more often seen and are easily recognizable under a microscope.

I think it would be bacteria because they don't use sexual reproduction, so you won't see any genetic mixing.
