Very much yes.
I'm a progressive and therefore I think demographically about politics. I think a woman president is long overdue, and I support Hillary Clinton on those grounds. I will probably work for some other candidate during the primaries -- because there will likely be plenty of candidates who are more progressive -- but I expect Hillary to win the Democratic primary.
There are currently 23 serious candidates for President in 2008. Only one is a non-male -- that's Hillary -- and only one is non-white -- that's Barack Obama. I would support Obama on the same demographic grounds as Hillary -- a non-white president is also long overdue. I don't think Obama is experienced enough to make it through the primary, however -- maybe in 2012.
If Colin Powell ran for president, I would both work for his campaign and vote for him, despite that he would run as a Republican and I'm an elected official of the Democratic Party. I suspect that many progressives would do the same thing, on the same demographic grounds as me.
Deval Patrick, a black male, just won the governor's seat in Massachusetts -- the first black man to win this seat ever, and only the second black governor in the history of America. I worked for him extensively, and would have voted for him against any other number of choices.

I vote on the record of the person, their past in Congress or wherever they came from. The ones you mention, I would not. Canada anyone? If Hillary is elected, look for the first American woman president assassinated. I am still waiting for my "free health insurance" of what she was to create long ago, all B/S.. You do not hear anymore about it, I wonder will she offer that lie back on the table in 08.

I would vote for the person with the best qualifications for the job. It doesn't matter if it's a woman or a black man. We just need someone who will continue to keep America free and keep the terrorists away from our country.

It really depends on who is better for the country. I would never vote for Hillary Clinton, but I would vote for Condaleeza Rice, not b/c she's a woman, or black, but because she would be a better leader.

You're talking about the democratic primaries, aren't you? I would vote for who I agreed more and think would be a better president. Voting for gender or racial issues are stupid reasons to vote for a candidate.

To me, I would rather take yet another white male if he had the right ideas for leading the country. given your situation, I would vote for whoever had the best ideas on running the country. I don't vote for race or creed, I vote on ideas and ability.
