Just wait for the next period. Day one of the period is day one of your cycle. 14 days after you should ovulate. On the 28th day you end the cycle and menstruate again.

It should be 28 days later since your pill usually regulates you to a 28 day cycle. Sometimes women's period will be a little off coming off the pill. So be prepared if it comes a few days early or late.
I've heard some people say that they have had trouble conceiving after being on the pill for so long. But for them, they all got pregnant, it was harder but they still managed. Everyone is different, I'm sure you'll be able to with not a problem.
Just remember that you ovulate normally around the 14 day, give and take a day or so. Good luck!

Hi,

Well done for coming off the pill! The amount of time it takes to 'recover' from being on the pill varies greatly from woman to woman.

I would recommend taking a Natural Family Planning course. Not only will you learn how your body works and be able to tell when your next period is coming, but you will also see that you have natural phases of fertility and infertility!

Simply take your temperature every morning when you wake up. It will rise when you ovulate (around the middle of your cycle) and will stay higher until your next period comes. As you are coming off the pill, it may take a few months for you to start ovulating again. Once released your egg remains viable for fertilisation for just 12-24 hours!

Also keep an eye on your mucus. It will become stretchy like egg white as you approach ovulation. Sperm can surivive for max. 5 days in this most fertile mucus.

I took an excellent home study course with the Couple to Couple League which I highly recommend. NFP is easy, straightforward and free! If you are married then LIFE UK runs a fertility awareness programme that would be open to you. You can also learn the basics of charting online with FertilityFriend.com.

As far as your next period, it should be at the same time you usually get it when you were taking the pill. You may have some spotting now for a few days, just because you stopped the pill, and your hormones will change. It may take up to 6 months for you to be able to concieve, however this is not written in stone, and if you are trying, you may get lucky, and concieve sooner. Drink a lot of water to rid yourself of all of the built up hormones from the pills in your body.

Im not sure on the conveiving part, but when i stopped with the pill your next period should come 28 days later (its a 28 day cycle) or somewhere within that time. It may take a couple of months to get back to a regular non controled cycle...but the 28 day cycle will become regular!!!

I can also recommend Femta. It records your periods and shows you the most likely times you will conceive. You will need 5 months of information before it will be more accurate. Which may take away as you have come off the pill.

Your next period will probably be completely unpredicted in its coming. I have gone off the pill a few times in my 3 years, it it has come about a week late each time. For some, it comes early. Just be prepared at around 3 weeks after your last period.

Also, be prepared for worse cramps and mood swings. The Pill helps ease both of these.

Good luck!

I came off the pill once & never did it again because I got my period sporadically for a couple of months. But everyone is different, I'm sure that with time your period with regulate itself--for now it may be unpredictable.

As for the conception part, the pill is out of your system within 24 hours.

good luck!
