I have a hp dv1000 laptop with 1.4ghz celeron processor and 1.2 gb ram. It fell on the floor and the laptop screen wiring broke. I think it was the circuit on the hinge. The motherboard is still good and i know it will still load windows. But i'm taking out the hard drive because i got personal information on it. I'm planning to sell it on ebay with the software that it came with. I'm sure someone out there knows how to fix it and will want it. What do you think i should start the price?

With a processor like celeron it won't get much attention although it does have a decent amount of memory so people might just bust the thing for parts. If you'd like a higher price for it maybe you could just include the HDD, anyways you could always make a backup on CD or DVD. If your selling it AS-IS to what you've said maybe a decent $75-$150. Just put it up for bid like maybe 1-2 days 'coz a lot people go for deals that end quickly and are cheap. I'd also suggest you start the bid up for $60-$70, it attracts a lot of new techies who want a laptop of their own.

Not very much at all, with a broken display and no hard drive? It's only good for parts. I wouldn't pay over $50.

Probably something like $100 - the computer isn't going to be of any real use to someone since its so old, but they might dissect it for parts.
