If you hadn't heard of Eragon until you saw the various film clips and trailers, what do you think of it?

I think it looks awesome! I would never read the book, it's huge!

Quite honestly, if I hadn't already read the books and intended to see it, I would have thought the trailer looked like a direct rip-off of the Lord of the Rings blended with Harry Potter, but I still enjoy magic and dragons and things, so I still might have seen it. I really like the books too, but there's a lot of similarities to Star Wars.

I've only seen the ads and I've read neither the Eragon book(s) nor the Pern books, but I immediately wondered if it was a Pern ripoff.

I've HEARD of the book for years but refuse to read it. Sorry, I just don't want to read the writings of a teenager.
The movie just MAY change my mind though, it looks pretty cool, but the movie looks formulaic, i.e., a chosen one destined to save the world, etc., so I'm not too sure I will. Graphics look nice though.

I saw the trailer... it looks good but I figured it was from a book like LOTR and stuff... might go and see it cause it looks interesting!
