Sweetie,it isnt that they do not trust you. They do not trust those online, who you do not know.Hun,when you are older you will so understand their position. When you become a parent, you will see yourself constantly, picking up the things you parents did with you when you were young.Respect your parents wishes, and do not get a myspace. It isnt that big of deal not to have one.You are not missing much,it is simply a fad that will be over next week.It isnt as big as it used to be,and soon enough it will be another fad that has passed. One of these days, your parents arent going to be around. You will then look back and wish they were there, and you could hear them again even if it is merely to tell you that you cant have a myspace.Respect them hun, they are looking out for your safety, appreciate that.Good luck, have a good night.

Well, it's because they love you sooo much and can't bare the thought of something bad happening to you! You see, it's not that they don't trust you..they don't trust the people out in the "myspace world" It's very scarey to be a parent, it seems that the most cherished love in your life is the one people want to do the most harm to...at least it seems that way. You don't say how old you are but we were young once and know how easily you can be deceived when you haven't experienced a lot. I was never a strict parent but I was lucky...and my children knew that I didn't say "no" often but when I did it because their safety, I felt, would be compromised. So, I don't know if it will work or not but try CALMLY to talk to them. See if you can come to a compromise about the myspace. My daughter was 17 or 18 when it started so I didn't have a problem with her having one.

At your age, it seems like they don't trust you, but on the contrary, it's the people that are using myspace they don't trust.
Your parents, believe it or not, know the risks that are out there, and just worry about the potential of you being hurt even if you're using good judgement. They just want to keep you safe.
Would your parents be willing to compromise? Maybe possibly creating a family myspace account? Just a thought.

Parents sometimes know what is better for us than we do ourselves. There are even adults out there that do not have enough sense not to put all their private info on Myspace. They are now having a hard time getting employment because of bragging about their antics. Just trust that they know what is good for you and find responsible friends you can see and interact with. The internet can wait...believe me.

Often, parents who do not allow their children freedom are parents who are worried that their children will do what THEY THEMSELVES did at the same age!
SO - don't argue with your parents....confrontation always produces negative results....but ask them for good reasons.
If you only get, "because we say so" then gently suggest they are worried you will do the same things they did at their age.....and see if they laugh! Still, they never had "myspace".
I don't know how old you are....maybe you want your own space so you can cruise the net without supervision.....well that would worry me. I am a pretty old adult and BELIEVE me I get some weird stuff. I just ditch it....I NEVER reply.
I wouldn't go on "myspace": it's a bit like standing in the street with yur clothes off. How much do you want EVERYbody to know about you? Really? MILLIONS access that site. And you never know who. Its a bit like being on a poster on everystreet corner for anyone to peer at. Would you really want that? Me? NO WAY.

Your parents love you and want the best for you. MySpace is a terrible, anything goes type of place and there are lots of pedophiles and other less than savory characters on it.
I don't let my kids have a MySpace either. Just because their friends have one, doesn't mean they will. They don't live at their friend's house, they live in mine and I care for them enough to make some common sense rules and that is one of them.

Parents really suck sometimes huh? But they are trying to keep you safe from internet predators. Myspace is the cool new fad...so u must have it lie everyone else. See if they will compromise with u and let u have it if u let them see what ur doing once a day...might work. Good luck!

they are trying to protect you from all the sick child molesters that are on myspace. You may hate it, but be thankful that they love you enough to protect you from that type of harm. Don't be mad at them. I know you think it's unfair, but someday you may look back at this and thank your parents for it. Hang in their, it's not that they don't trust you, its the fact that they can't trust the thousands of people who'd have access to your myspace account if you had one.

Because of all the pedophiles who use Myspace. They don't want you to get hurt by a serial killer or pedophile especially if your a girl and most kids don't know how to NOT post all their details online.
