Are there cultural reasons Filipino girls seem to like older Americans?

They like older men, because they think they are more prominent, mature, business minded, full grown sex idea's. They mainly aim for the older man for security, ;and I know a few who came for this reason and once they came to American soil, the ditched the older man, for someone else.

Ha ha. You just set yourself up with this question. Psychologically, you're looking for acceptance for your current situation. You have to convince yourself that it's okay for a much older man to be with a very young girl. A few years difference and it would be pedophilia. There is absolutely no basis to believe that a Filipina girl would like an older man. It is simply not true. A very small minority have no choice in the matter and end up with old men, so don't have tunnel vision and believe this is the norm. Want proof? Look at the difference between the women with old Americans, and the rest.

Is it a bad thing? No. It works both ways. Hopefully, you find a mate who makes you happy, and hopefully she does the same. Just don't make the assumption that this is normal for Filipinos.

This is not entirely true. Older men seem to be 90% of men going to the Phillipines to get a quick hookup. But as a man in his 20s with a couple of friends just out for some fun and to see the Philippines (for me I had always wanted to see my mother's homeland), we had women all over us and those who were walking with thier older man were checking us out too. We were at least 50% filipino (one 100% who spoke Tagalog) who looked Americanized and they can tell.

They would prefer a tall man with light skin who is younger, but to get a US visa and a comfortable life, they will take the older man. Heck in two years they are free to divorce and find the ideal man.

The stigma there is also that with that money they can send a few bucks home to the family in the Philippines.

Now this is not typical of all Pinays in the PI, just a few. I have known quite a few who love the Philippines and would never leave.

They don't. Some girls might date someone older, just like someone anywhere else might date someone older. Just like Tom Cruise can hook up with someone 20 years younger than him, so can an occasional well off American or Swede or whatever come to the PH and meet someone 20 years their junior and get married. It might be more obvious in the PH, might be more prevalent because many Filipinos speak English and are poorer, but it isn't a huge trend or custom in any way.

Most Filipinos would prefer to marry a Filipino and live their lives in the Philippines, just like anyone else. I believe that my wife married me because of who I am, not where I'm from nor due to my ability to bring her to America. But she's only 3 years younger than me.

It's just like in every other country. There are women who go with OLDER guys because they dig them, or they have the money. This preference is not only made by Pinays.

I personally don't like older guys, or shorter ones for that matter. But you seem to have this thing for a young PInay. And you need help. A visit to your shrink might do you some good.

Don't stereotype Filipinas. You'll be in big trouble if you think they are all alike.

i don't know about all of the ladies there, but i have known my gf for 6 years. have visited her numerous times in manila. going to cdo for the first time. I dealt with the machismo crap there and in south American countries where i was stationed in the service.people giving you strange looks and that kind of thing. but try going to Colombia south America where not many tourists go. 1st and foremost if you don't trust her then don't marry her.there are detective agencies in the Phil's. have them check her out if you have doubts. unfortunately there are women that do just want the visa and after your married to them for the 2 years it takes to get their permanent status they split. but on the other hand the phils by far is very beautiful, the people friendly, and good food. i will finally be getting married this august but not before i go one more time in march and april. have fun and make the most out of it.

I spent 18 months in the Philippines as well making numerous port visits while in the U.S. NAVY. I have that the reason Pilipina woman like older men is because we know how to treat them like the way are supposed to be treated. Most Philippine men think it is ok to hit their wives and absolutely WILL NOT walk down the dtreet holding with their. It hurts their 'MACHISMO'

I have been reading your questions. You are an older American falling in love with an underage Filipina girl. I am not saying this to be mean in any way, but please Go get psychiatric help. You are going through a midlife crisis. I would not doubt that you are abandoning your family for this young girl. Go back to your family, get counseling and if in one year you still feel the same go back to the Philippines and do what you want. What you are doing is not fair to the young girl, yourself, your family or her family. What you are feeling is not love, but she is filling a void because you are getting old and she makes you feel younger. This won't last long and will make you feel worse in the long run. What responsibilities are you shirking and abandoning. You need to get counseling. Get through your crisis and then decide what you want to do. Please go get help. Go back to the US for a year and get your life back together. You are not being fair to this girl, yourself or your family and you do not even realize the consequences your actions will bring. Go get help. If you still feel the same in a year, then fine. Go home for now. Don't be a selfish prick.

Filipina women stand out in terms of charm , openness , intelligence , education and trustworthiness . In tradition they excel and value their husbands as their priority . They are very affectionate and romantic and their focus and goal is giving their man tender loving care surpasses all other woman .

They are well-educated in their different respective professions and you'll find them very mature in their thinking . They are mature for their age and view older man as mature, stable and responsible partner .
