i'm in grade 8 and i wear black mascara to make my eyes look bigger and a midnight blue eyeliner..is this too much makeup?

It depends where you have the eyeliner. If it's mascara & eyeliner on your lower lid, then it's fine. If it's that whole eyeliner on the lid deal, then it might be a little overdone for school. That's my opinion, I think natural is prettier.
If you want to wear mascara & eyeliner together just for school, make sure the mascara isn't thick and clumpy. then just line the bottom of your eyes with the liner.
Make sure that throughout the day you clean under your eyes so you don't look like a raccoon, as sometimes eyeliner runs.

if i were you i would go with a black eyeliner but the mascara is a good choice
also if you have blue eyes than blue eyeliner would look ok
if you have brown eyes try a brown eyeliner
i think that that way looks nice

Yes, unless you like a goth look. Switch the mightnight blue eyeliner for soft black or dark brown and lay it lightly on your upper lid only. Also, no liquid eyeliner. Also Massie Block. Have you read the Clique Series too?

Black eye liner is always best. For daytime make up use really thin lines and don't go all the way to the inside corner of your eye; about 2/3 of the way from outside corner to inside.
If you can't put it on thin (cause it takes practice!) then take a Qtip and wipe away the extra.
The best thing for eyes is a perfect eyebrow. Don't pluck them the way most girls do--look at 17 magazine and copy the models' eyebrows as exactly as you can. I used to have my friend pluck my eyebrows for me--she could step back and look at them. Use a really bright light for putting on makeup.
Guys like a fair amount of makeup, but usually they like a classic look (even though they don't know it).

Yes, ditch the eyeliner and just wear a brown mascara. Natural looking is better.
