Well, it does seem that way... I am far from a professional artist or even author, but it seems that I create my "greatest" pieces when I'm lonely or just alone.
I think that it helps the artist concentrate at the task at hand... there are hardly any distractions for the artist, so no interruptions either.
Also, it seems that for me that when I'm happy, I can't create that many good things. It's just like happiness and my creativity can't co-exist together. Almost like it's suffocating it...
Oh, well, I also think that many great artists are loners and in "their own little world" because the world they live in might not be to their tastes...

as a designer, for me, it works great when there is a group discussion about a particula issue... I love to create as well with a drink in one hand and a pen in the other diwn at my lovely local pub!

People can be very creative when that's all they have to do. I'm not a creative person so I know I don't have to worry about that.

i am a loner. people inspire me but then i need them to go away so i can think. there are only a few people i can handle being around non stop without a break to be alone for while
