Whichever makes you happy. I taught myself how to play the guitar. Make sure someone goes with you to buy the instrument...some are made better than others. I always went with my guitar students when they purchased a guitar. Some guitars are pretty but almost impossible to play without killing your fingers. Merry Christmas.

If you do not care either way, then I would say go with guitar. Few reasons. You could always practice guitar while plugged or unplugged; if your family is sleeping or you have neighbors in an apartment that don't appreciate you practicing drums. It's a more portable instrument. Guitar is also a gateway to learn other instruments because you learn to read music, focus on theory, etc. This is good for the long run.

Really follow your heart dear. I have been playing guitar, performing and composing for the past 30+ years. Playing the guitar has enabled me to learn other instruments easier because you start to learn how to read and understand music. I can also play some piano/keyboard (understand it better than play it), bass guitar, lead, finger pick an acoustic and can keep a beat on a set of drums. If you feel it in your heart you can play anything. My idol is Paul McCartney who is said to have mastered over 75 different instruments! I have seen him in concert which he played a variety of instruments. I also have studied and played his music professionally and it is very intricate and challenging. This has forced me to better my skill level and strive to really comprehend the instruments being played and the structure and composition of his works. This will happen to you once you make the commitment to play an instrument. Just go ahead and pick one up. If you need advice on guitars- feel free to contact me.

i would choose the guitar.
u can play it everywhere.
the drums are often too loud and it's difficult to bring them from one place to another place...

but not everyone like to play every instrument.

maybe u can have a look and a play at a friends guitar/ drums?

If you choose not to spell right then you are making the wrong decision. Following this forward, any instrument you choose will be the wrong one.
