Most guys are Baritones... vocal parts are determeined my a set of notes you're most comfortable singing.

I, myself, can sing high bass notes to low alto notes, but I'm classified as a tenor - because those notes are my comfort zone.

EDIT:
Read the 1st paragraph of each of the links. They will go from lowest pitch to highest (male wise).

There are 3 more that go higher but these are way more common as a male.

Sit down at a piano, sing some warm-ups, then "max out" your voice, so to speak; that is, sing as high as you can, starting mid-range-ish then going higher a half-step at a time. Do the same thing going lower; start mid-range and go down by half steps. If you don't know how to read piano music, find some who can to help you. Once you have your highest and lowest notes marked on the piano, check it against this http://www.library.yale.edu/cataloging/music/vocalrg.htm
That should tell you what range you fall into. Keep in mind, too, that it is possible for your voice to shift even into your late 20s. I've been taking private voice lessons for 8 years now, and in the past two years my voice has developed into a mezzo soprano range, where I used to be a soprano. And I'm 20 now.
Good luck.

Guys~ Usually are a Base or Tenor

Girls~ Usually are Alto or Soprano

to find out for sure what you are ask your voice teacher. if you don't have one then here is what you should look for....

If you have a High voice ~Saprano
If you have a lower voice but not that low ~Alto

If you are Between Really High and Low you could be a 2nd Saprano.

Tenor ~ Lower than Alto
Base ~ Lower still...

hope that helps
