Life is good because we have made it so. We have fought our way out of caves, battled the elements and suffered so that we could have a better life. And we made it. Just look at out society today; look how far we've come. To put it simply, life is good because we want it to be. If thousands of years ago no one aspired to have a better life, if people just decided to sit in caves trying to make fire we would still be there today. The reason we're not is that we wanted more. We wanted to be happy and we achieved it. The truth is we still want more; we still want faster computers and more delicious food and that's why our world is continuing to advance at a rapid rate and won't stop until humans are content with what they have created. But we never will be content, we will always want more. Some see this is the cause of global warming and other destructive things; some even think we should still be in caves if it means keeping our world untouched. I, however, marvel at the things humanity has created and get shivers up my spine when I think of what more is to come.

Humans have proven many times over that whatever we desire we can achieve, even against all odds. We wanted a better life and we got it; and our world is getting better every day.
