I notice this male hairstyle is enjoying something of a renaissance at present. But thankfully, it's not yet being combined with the atrocious perms we used to see in the '70s. The sight of a permed mullet was a wonder to behold.
But my question is this- WHY is it called a mullet?
Incidentally this style never went OUT of fashion in the Southern, ahem, "family orientated" states of the USA where it is often seen at NASCAR racetracks. Where I believe it is also referred to as a Mullet, or alternatively a "Camino headrest"
So why a "Mullet" exactly?
