Thsi is a follow up to a question that I had asked yesterday...
MY Chevy S-10 is having a clutch problem. The clutch feels like it has very little resistance when push the pedal. I was advised to check the fluid, which I did. It was full. While I had the cap off, I had my BF push the clutch, and it kinda bubbled the fluid a little.
I figured out that if I kinda "pump" the clutch, I am able to change gears. Can somebody please give me a little bit of insight here? How expensive is this gonna be to fix?

rather easy fix, what ya have is air in your clutch line. down along the fire wall will be a drain, that you can open to to service the clutch.for detailed instruction pick up a haynes or chilton manual for the truck, or talk to the guys an gals at advance auto /or auto zone.

You have air in your clutch hyd. system. You can bleed the clutch the same way you bleed a brake system. pump the clutch
and turn the bleeder screw at the slave cyl. on the bell housing until you have nothing but brake fluid and no air coming out. when you depress the clutch pedal you are compressing the air in the system and thus the spongey pedal. air can get into clutch system only three ways, the master cyl. the slave cyl. or the line that connect the two. a visual inspection will tell you. if air leakes in, fluid will probley leak out. hope this helps

I just replaced the master cylinder yesterday, now I am remove the slave which requires removal of the transmission. It's lots of work and the slave costs $75.94 at the Advanced Auto Parts.

FYI, my clutch felt like it only worked on the last 10% of travel when pushing it to the floor. Sometimes, it would not release the clutch enough to start the engine without having the truck start to move.

I won't finish tonight but I will let you know how it works out tomorrow.

Don't push the clutch with the top off where you fill it. t will overflow and damage paint.

You either have air in the system, or a leak in the slave cylinder, or the rod between the clutch and the slave cylinder needs to be adjusted. Take it in, once they get it up on the lift they can know almost instantly what it is.
