The macbook is smaller screen (13 vs 15 inch). The Sony has fewer ghz (1.6) Macbook has 2 ghz. The new bootcamp patch from Mac allows the Mac to run XP (good for my small business stuff). Does anyone know if bootcamp will allow Microsoft's new 'Vista' operating system? I'm on a limited budget and this is a bigger purchase for me.

Mac's wont run vista until they develop the "hack" for it.

Mac's are fine for usual usage, but if you have the software for your small business that's on windows i would suggest going for the sony (unless you have software for the mac, which you should go the other way)

hi i to made the leap and switched to mac, itsnot vast of deal particularly, there is a few similarites between the working systems and if theres something you dont no macs finder will help. If employing a mac is a situation, you may take it to an apple save and deploy winodws on it, then you definitely can swap between sytems, that way you get the portability of a mac and the working gadget that your continually used to. yet i dunno, only understand that a super style of domicile windows bred aplications do no longer furnish mac variations, even with the undeniable fact that in the time of the adventure that your a pupil microsoft workplace does paintings with a mac. additionally apple furnish a pupil decrease value in short, i think of the main suitable element you're able to do is to bypass to an apple save and attempt out a mac and notice wether you like it or no longer, formerly making the investment.

Neither Mac, nor Sony.

Mac is still "an strange thing" for most users and technicians.
Sony has some quality problems. They are just pretty.

Choose HP, Lenovo, Dell or another brand. If you wanted those brands as first choice, then I would advise you to pick a high end business model.

I would say the PC. This is assuming that most software you already have and know how to use is designed for the PC. IMHO PC's in general allow more freedom and flexibility. If you have (or will have) something against Microsoft you are always free to put Linux on it...
