I'm in high school and lately I've been thinking about what it will be like after I graduate. In my high school there are no classes to prepare for the real world; like on how to iron or how to buy a car successfully or even how to manage taxes.
So what I ask of you is quite simple, what is one thing you wish you would have known before entering the real world. It can be anything from how to do laundry or that one size fits all never fits all.

thanks.

I think the thing I would most want to learn before going out into the "Real World" is that you may be able to fool your parents most of the time, and even some of those "Real World" people some of the time, but you will NEVER fool all of the people all of the time, and if you go out into the world not BEING real, sooner or later you are going to get a very painful lesson in just how "Real" the world is going to get with YOU.

Those things you mentioned (ironing & taxes etc.) are all things you can learn along the way, so you don't need to worry too much about them. More importantly, do your best to stay out of debt. If you want to go to College or University, make sure you find out your truest aspirations before getting student loans.

You can take as many classes as you like, you're still going to make a ton of mistakes when you first enter the "real world". Everyone does.

I wish I would know how to buy a house successfully. You know, without being duped and getting a great deal.
