I'm a foreigner studying in singapore currently holding a Student pass. I was made aware that I am not supoosed to work but some of my friends say that it is possible under certain circumstances.. the ICA might just allow.. is that true?

If you break any conditions you can get deported. Your school should help you get the neccessary exemption. Alternatively you have a plausible reason why you are at a place of 'work' eg visiting friends, helping out without remuneration. They usually stake the place before moving in. In the past, female visitors on study pass would play hide and seek working in nightclubs and bars. Don't know how successful they are. The authorities even go to the extent of checking their school attendance records.

No, I don't think you can work AT ALL, as long as you hold a student pass. It is only possible if you work illegally.
