Of all the animals only felines are in the habit of covering their shits, not dogs. Is their a reasoned explanation.

Felines usually bury thier feces because they are mostly solitary, stealth hunters and dont want to let others know they are around, instead they use less visible urine to scent mark thier territory. Canines usually leave thier feces exposed because they use it for scent marking and territorial marking as well as thier urine. It has nothing to do with cleanliness just different behaviour suited to thier lifestyle.

Dogs do kick backwards after going to the bathroom and they scratch themselves clean. Wolves are wild animals, this is where dogs come from. The dog family is called CANINE.

Perhaps the key here is that a lot of felines are loners, while canine types are pack animals. If you're on your own, you may not want to let others know where you are, but if you're with a group, it's not a big deal.

Actually cats aren't necessarily 'cleaner' than dogs. Cats salivate less, so many speculate and some claim to prove that cats' mouths are far more disgusting than dogs' mouths. Also, my cat has pooped all over my house, and peed on the walls, without bothering to 'cover it up'- so, there are always exceptions.

Cats (or any other feline) usually has to learn to cover their own droppings. Dogs (or other canines) usually do not learn how to cover droppings because dogs/canines use the droppings as messages to others. (kinda marking territory and stuff).

well, in my oppinon dogs are better than cats because a dog can protect you and you can enjoy dogs. some of them maybe dangerous but that does not mean all dogs are dangerous and i know because i have an dog and cats just HISS AND SCARE ME! and my dog is an red nose pit and she is not dangerous, she is just playful.
