becuse i would be considered a minority at most universities (im mexican american) or all i dont really know...

would i have a better chance at getting into a university that has much less hispanics than one that has more or is it just becuase im a minority ill have a better chance (thats what ive been told)???

It depends on where you live. Many states will not allow your racial or ethnic background to be taken into account for admissions purposes in the state universities. Private universities, for the most part, can do whatever they want.

Either way, your best bet is to make sure you are highly qualified for college. Among other things, make sure that your skills (especially writing) are where they need to be to succeed at the university level.

In Michigan we just passed a law to change that. Before, it would be a major advantage to be a minority. Minorites with lower GPA's than white people would be getting into college just because they were minorites, so not fair! So now its totally equal and they cannot discriminate against anyone (even white people)... or so they say. But in other states it would still be a benefit to you.

I think that on the list you can put perfer not to answer.
Because I remember I did a search on Colleges
That must be true though.
But maybe if they have less Hispanics they might put you
in to help balance out or something.
I Myself am Mexican too.

Just reveal that you're either a minority or a liberal and they'll probably let you in. If you say you're both, it should be a slam dunk.

Not that I like the system.
