I have tried many times because I felt unloved and that no one understood what I felt.. I felt lonely and that life would never get any better. I am sad all the time..It's kind of hard to explain all the reasons a person does it or whats going through their mind when they make that decision.

The same reason animals do. When death becomes apparent and it is the only option other than suffering.

When you no longer believe you can function and you believe there will only be suffering is when you'll instinctively ponder death. Death is inevitable and feared. When you do not value life you do not fear losing it.

It is an overriding of the mechanism that humans can spend time feeding off an emotion and advanced comprehension of future events to assume survival unsuccessful.

It all depends on the individual and how they perceive events. Hope for some is tough. It's hard to look for what you've never seen. For the fact people can comprehend far more than animals can about future survival is why they commit suicide more often than animals.

It human instinct to run away from a great threat sometimes taking a lesser one in it's place.

It shouldn't be a mistake to assume sacrifice as suicide such as monks burning their bodies or people putting their lives before others.
