Yes, you can.
Although in general you use the continuous form only for ACTIVE situations.
You can indeed say ’I am hearing you‘, but it shows that you are a bit impatient and you actually want to say ‘I am listening to you’

Yes you can. I am hearing you is a perfectly correct sentence. Also, "ing" form is technically called Gerund form.

Yes, most americans wouldn't use the phrase "I am hearing you," they'd most likely say "I hear you." But grammatically that is acceptable. As in, "After hearing Mozart for the first time, John new he wanted to dedicate his life to music."

As mentioned above, "I'm hearing things" is standard usage, meaning I've been having auditory illusions, hearing voices or sounds that don't exist.
"I'm hearing you" is something I personally do say, meaning "I'm listening and I understand" with the implication that not everyone would understand or agree, but it's not standard usage.

hear is a verb that is commonly used in the simple present form like understand, doubt, believe...
You wouldn't say I'm understanding you, rather, I understad you.
