Belgium and the Netherlands

They where invaded in may 1940 and Belgium and a part of Netherlands was liberated in 1944 but a part of the Netherlands was only free at the end of the war in 1945.

someone above said that there was a ghost army under the command of Patton, this is correct , but the idea of it was to tie done the army ( the 15 German army ) that was situated at the pas De Calais.
Also the hedges talked about they are situated in Normandy and they are called bocage

They were the same Lowland countries as always. Netherlands means lowland. Hence with respect to the Allied Invasion the lowlands were the easiest to approach although Patten was used as a decoy to suggest the possibility of invading from Greece!

Another name that was associated with this area is hedgerow country because many were planted to help prevent soil erosion!
