sure it is . people don't ask questions for information, only to get their points across.

The above answerer is the foolish one....the very first answer is the one I am referring to :-)

This is a good question.

I do agree that it is somewhat pointless...but in a way it isn't, because it helps each individual to explore and expand their own political opinions. Not one of us knows all, so we learn, read, and discuss. The turn on our BS filters and take what works and toss what doesn't. That is what the politics category is all about...now if we can only ditch the name-calling know-it-alls who refuse to be open-minded about anything.....*sigh!*

Thanks for the good question!

Attempting to share thoughts and ideas is never a pointless exercise. Sure, you will find some narrow-minded answers and may get frustrated but even then, it is not pointless. Pick and choose questions you can relate to but be prepared for abuse.

It can get interesting or it can get a bit testy.
Yes I know I am understating a bit. If one looks there are some better questions to answer.
Many times the answers are better than the questions. All to often the poser of the question is choosing to ask in as abusive and caustic a way as he or she can. That does have an effect on the answers.

i've come to the conclusion that it's totally pointless, there's really nothing of interest here, 95% of the posts are thinly veiled attempts at insulting the other party

If they are only opinions and viewpoints, yes.If you "FEEL" it is unimportant and likely wrong. If you have facts it is a waste of time,no one wants to see them. The best you can do is bolster like minds.

It is an exercise in futility.
