There is this haunting dramatic, faster song that they've used a lot in sports stories-- most recently the Ohio State/Michigan game. It's sounds like a march. Sorry so vague, but I haven't even seen the LOTR movies...

If the link inocntgrl012 gave led to the song you're looking for, it is an orchestral version of a music taken from the soundtrack of Requiem For A Dream. You can find it on p2p as "the two towers trailer" or "lux aeterna (full orchestra remix)". Clint Mansel composed it and in the original version, the Kronos Quartet perfoms it.
