Sky Broadband Connect is the package I'm using, I've had nothing but problems - half the time it comes up 'page not found' when I try to get online, and eventually when I do pages take ages to load. It is NOT faster than dial up! I've optimised my pc, reset the broadband box loads of times - has anyone else had similar probs and how did you overcome them? Thanks

These problems comes very often if ur broadband speed is very slow simultaneiously ur computer is slow.

These are the two steps u can do to rectify the problmes.

Broadband are of many speeds. 64kbps, 128kbps, 256kbps, So which one u r using the 1st one is slow and the last is fast. So choose the best one though it will cost u but will not waste ur time.

Then check ur computer's Ram 512mb is preferable if using xp. If not configure it wont cost u much. Then clean registry from ur computer and delete temp cookies histories and all that garbage. Then uninstall unused programs and game.

Hope this one will help u.

I feel for you - really I do - as i am an ex-Sky customer now who went through what you are experiencing.

There is very little we can do ourselves to increase the broadband speed. It's all down to SKY and you BT phone line. Firstly, call BT and ask them to do a full line check on you line. This will disconnect your broadband - so give the family notice. This will let BT know if there are any issues on the line. If there are, they will fix it.

If there are no issues on the physical line, then it's time to call SKY. See if there is an issue with your account connecting to their system. Your account details are encrypt them into the SKY broadband router they send you (which is why you have to use their equipment). They will be able to check for problems with the connection.

Otherwise, if they say nothing is wrong, I would ask them to send another router out to you.

This is the procedure I had to go through when my 16MB service was only giving me about 512KB! In the end SKY gave up, and could not resolve the problem, so I moved to Nildram.

Best of luck in your case!

I have broadband and when first installed it is very slow, give it a few days, if it still is slow call your local connection number and report the problem. Also, it might not be your internet/broadband connection a lot of times it is just the speed of your computer. My favorite is Microsoft XP. It works the best!

When I first got my Broadband, my mum told them to go on unlimited. Five months later, it started going really slow. The month after it started going slow (eg it slows on July 15th, goes back to full speed on August 1st), I went onto my ISP inbox, and it turns out they kept me on 2GB download limit. Either it's limited, the modem is inserted wrong, or even worse, broken, or Sky Broadband is just not very good.

Try phoning up Sky Broadband or try a modem speed test. =)

Sounds like you did everything but call the ISP (Sky B C) there maybe and probably is some settings that they can have you set that you are not aware of - anyhow you are paying for a service and their tech support is there to make sure that it is running as advertised......give 'em a call.

Actually (page not found),,, if repeated for different pages at the same times means that you have a problem with your net connection,,,what is your supposed speed?,,, I think you have problem in your configuration,,, you have to check your system configuration with your service provider to be sure,, you did it right

You may need a booster box in your area. Get on to your provider. This happened to me, although I am with Telewest, and after they provided a booster box, up the street, it works a treat.

you may want to visit www.ewido.com and try to scan for problems on spywares, adware and viruses
These things slow down internet access... worst you can be hacked...

you may want also to run speedtest from the web and verify whether your ISP is providing the speed you should have

Or... call your ISP Technical Support
