Actually, using non-acetone nail polish remover shouldn't damage it too much. Just be sure to use a wood cleaner (the kind that moisturizes) right afterwards.

Do not use any chemicals to remove nail polish from furniture. Anything capable of dissolving nail polish is more than capable of dissolving wood finishes. My advice is if you want to keep the wood table in original condition, hire a professional.

Use non acetone nail polish remover and wipe of with damp cloth as soon as you get the polish off...

Mix equal quanties of vinegar and olive oil and rub on nail polish with a cloth dipped in warm water. may need to be repeated
