Hiya. I need advice.
I bought a pair of shoes from new look about 1.5 months ago. I wore them 3 times and they still look brand new. Last night i was walking down some stairs and the front of hem snapped right off... leaving me nearly breaking my ankle.
I dont have my proof of purchase, but surely i should be able to return them. It says the shops name inside the shoe so i couldnt have got them from any other shop.
My aunt had the same shoes and hers done it as well. I bought them for my 21st next week and i am so disapointed :( lol
Thanks

you should be able to return them as long as you can prove that you bought them from that shop and that they broke accidentaly ie, you didnt do it. The assistants should be understanding and give you a refund but tif they are not - demand to speak to the manager. aslo if they look brand new, this should make it easier to be refunded!

If they give you any trouble at all in returning them ask to speak to the manager. Whether it's a department store or a small boutique no business is going to want to send you away pissed off! If nothing else accept store credit or a simple replacement of the shoe, whoever you're talking to will be able to tell by looking at them how much you actually wore the shoes around, and I'm sure they will agree shoes shouldnt be falling apart after just three wears!!!

The sale of goods act1979,updated in 2003, all goods that you buy from a shop or trader must be of satisfactory quality, be fit for the intended purpose, your shoes are not, don't worry about not having a receipt, you are entitled to your money back, you do not have to accept a credit note, it is your choice.

If they are faulty you are entitled to a full money back guarantee without your receipt, as long as they have been purchased within 6 months which the sales adviser will know either through product knowlegde or on the till.

I'd try taking them back and explain you've only worn them a couple of times. It's worth a try. If you haven't got e receipt and the shoes have the shop logo on they can't really dispute where you bought them from. x

all goods must be fit for the purpose for which they were sold - remember that phrase. So shoes must be OK to walk in - ignore is the salesgirl says that you shouldn't walk in them and that they're only for standing around in ....
