When it was a long, long time ago and it did not affect any blacks living today. Hey, I am Irish and we were enslaved by the Scandinavians and British, but do I hate them?? No, I don't. I'm not a racist and I have gotten along with many black people, but it just kind of annoys me because no White today had any Black slaves. Sure there are some White racist, but I've heard people on TV and on the computer saying how Whites are racist because they enslaved and segregated us.

They seem to be kind of selfish.... thinkinf they're the only slaves ever. Everyone is a descendant of a slave, like someone else said.

It is unfortunate that many people focus on slavery as the ONLY problems experienced by African descent people. There is also persecution, murders, castrations, humiliation. It was horrendous before but during the 60's the maltreatment became news as laws were being passed that included the African Americans which gave them more power in the world dominated by white men. That's just the fact. Grown African American men were called boys. It didn't matter if he was 50 years old and a 14 year old white youngster called him boy. That kind of history is the problem in addition to the horrors of slavery. This is years and years of abuse experienced by generations and if changes hadn't been made there would still be the same problems.

I don't get it. I'm part Irish, My great great grandmother was an Irish slave. I'm also Part Comanche.
Hey folks let's be honest here!
We Comanche got the short end of the stick!
I don't Hate the whites because the whites did not kill my family all off.
I like whites because they didn't get us all. lol
My Grandfather warned me about hatred and what it does to people, then I sit here and read what it does to people and see that Grandfather was right.
Grandfather said that if you dwell in the dens and homes of evil it will live in you. If you hate people that same evil will live in you. Human beings must live and work together as brothers and sisters or like what happened to our people.... there will be no more human beings.
He was a wise man and I miss him and his council.
When I read these questions, I feel shame for those that believe the evil they spout will defend them. Be it for the color of their skin or their religion.... I too have fallen into that evil and told people to grow up or get off my ground.
My anger is not for the human beings, just the ideals they think are so right.
Racism Is an evil. It is like a bad seed that grows inside of us and it has only one purpose, to become the tree of death.
The seed of racism will see all of us hung from it's limbs when it becomes a tree.

It is because of the vibes I pick up from some of the whites.Im not trying to be mean or anything but some whites try to be slick and blame everything on blacks and how black people act, but you know good and well some of you are sneaky with your stuff.some of you are just as racist and not all of you but some.Ive been around some white people that I try my very best to become friends with and some dont want to be friends because im black.Ive even had some white female tell me in cooking class when I was in highschool about Bush.I said I vote for Bush or something like that, whatever the conversation was she had the nerve to say to me(it was also another white female in the class as well, but she kept quiet)she better be glad I was nice because I could have told her off,but I was nice about it. anyway she had nerve to say Bush rather for you blacks to be back in the fields.now you tell me how does that sound.Racist!

by gones ,should be by gones , its true.
a wound can not heal unless its left to do so in peace.
black people continue to suffer segregation on a daily basis.
a lot of black people would rather just go on their lives like everyone else
but society offers constant reminders of the hate others feel towards us.
its true that some black people do bad things, are lazy and so on but so do other races.
no race is perfect.you cant blame it all on the race its the individual to be blamed.

look at serial killers and paedophiles the worst dictators in human history which race do most of then turn out to be are they black?
no one judges them as a race its just human nature.

its painful to be hated on basis of your skin there is nothing you can do to change your skin colour even if you bleach it or tan it,
you remain what you are

its true no one today is to blame for what happened 300 plus years ago, but society should stop looking at black people as inferior, like they did back then, only then will the wound be healed.

i pray for the day everyone learns to love and respect one another.
you are Irish and therefore white no one sees Irish at first glance when they look at you, they see white you do not experience segregation on a daily basis so,
its OK for you not to understand this very sensitive and painful dilemma

The black-on-white racism really does need to stop. Blacks forget that their ancestors were criminals from Africa that the african etlistist wanted to get rid of. If anything, they should blame the africans who sold them into slavery.

Everyone's ancestors were slaves. If you are arab, white, *******, etc.. doesn't matter. The Romans took slavs, germanics, celts, etc.. as slaves. Its funny how blacks think they are unique. I once came across a black messageboard and found a thread that said "should we be friendsx with jews? After all, they were slaves just like us". Lol! Almost everyone alive today is a descendent of a slave.

But you should be careful asking questions like this. My last account I had 2,000 Yahoo Points and was a long-time respeted member. I asked a black question and was banned in the next hour! I emailed yahoo and even had to apologize (for no reason, it wasnt offensive) but i am still banned to this day on that name.

good point about the Irish, blacks werent the only slaves on earth..... maybe cuz it still socially and economically affects them here.the results of slavery still exist. its really only a few generations free.....didnt official rights not even come until the 60s.hey thats very recent. There are plenty of people alive now who had to go to the back of the bus..... and im sure they told their kids and grandkids about it...........and there is still a lot of racism and probably always will be. "go back to Africa" has much more of a sting than "go back to Ireland" for obvious reasons..... I mean, "Africa" is looked at like its a tragic wasteland of Aids starvation disease and poverty...not like going to some great european country where life can be good.

Maybe you were enslaved by the British and Scandinavians, you should do some research on slavery and understand the real reason behind it.

I would have to agree- especially when you look at this fact- what horrible and sadistic things were done to the Native Americans? After what was done to that group of people, if anyone is entitled it is them, but you don't here anyone with that blood going around acting like it happened directly to them (this generation) and they certainly don't act like jerks about it either. They simply adjusted and have made a way for themselves which is profitable and it works. They work for what they have and (unlike some ethnic groups) don't think that their history entitles them to have everything handed to them on a silver platter or that eveyone should bend over backwards to kiss their tails!!

actually personally, i'm a bit more miffed about equal housing, that allowed white soliders who fought bravely for their country the right to come back and purchase nice homes, but refused the brave black soldiers the same rights. so while whites got a chance to pass on a 600K house to their children, blacks got the chance to teach their children about how important it was to own a home, and to do it as soon as they could.

it isn't about slavery. It's about burning cities, (like tulsa), churches, spiting on little girls in their sunday best as they tried to go to school. Slavery was a long time go. equal housing act? 30 years ago.
