I've got a vauxhall asta 1.6LS 1998 mk3 R reg right here is the problem i took it to a garage they put the computer on it and told me it was the idle control valve so i brought a new one from vauxhall and fitted it myself it soveld the problem the engine is runing better but here goes when driving the car its perfect but when the car is left to tick over the engine warning light comes on when the engine gets warmed up any ideas

I have a brilliant answer.
You should not have bought the lousy item in the 1st place.
Bung a bit of sticky tape over the offending warning light, and sell it quick.

Perhaps the engine is not ticking over quite fast enough. Try adjusting the idle to about 1200 rpm.

Could be that the alternator needs servicing now. Check it out or you'll end up with a flat battery soon.

could be a dodgy oil switch, cost less than a tenner to buy
