not to sound mean but suck it up.
either tell him you are on your period and that you don't trust tampons.
or use a tampon. they work. just remember to change the thing.

Tough it up. You are not a part time swimmer, you swim for life. Its in you. I mean, what if you were made to stop swimming all together right now for the rest of your life. a piece of you would be missing, right?
Here are some ideas. Birth Contorl. Not because you are sexually active, but because with these you can control when you have your pierod. For instance, this week is not best bc of the big meet, just wait till next week.
Flow almost stops when you get into the water. You immediatly take off the pad, then run and jump in, you might be okay.
If you are really working hard, your pierod will stop all together bc all of the energy goes towards the swimming and not to the period.
Your dad is not an idiot. He knows what girls go through. Tell him that you are having female problems. He might (of he like my dad) get scared about might having to talk to you about it and leave you alone.
Good luck!

Okay, You keep posting about this. Just take the advice and swim! Or tell your father you are on the rag and you don't want to swim. He will understand!!!
I've been swimming a long time and have never had a problem, honest they work!

You dad should understand that this is a girl thing.....and you can't swim with blood running through the pool....
if he doesn't understand then call you mom or aunt or female relative and have them explain it to your dad
no one has the right to control you womanly body functions...
besides, having blood come out of your body is a better excuse than my toe hurts....you can still swim if your toe hurts.....but you can't get in the water with blood
good luck!

just tell him.
don't make excuses...cos really ur just lying.
if he doesn't know that ur getting ur periods yet, then he's hardly going to know that ur not a child any more.
if u want to be treated as an adult then u need to act like one, and also let ur dad know that u are one.
if u don't want to swim when u have ur period, i would say that ur now old enough to make that decision for urself...ur now a woman :)
good luck :)
ps, tampons do work wonderfully well, just make sure u put it in properly.

What is the matter with you? Tell him the truth. He is your father, and does know about periods. You know that when your in water; your period stops. If not then now you do.Use tampons while in the water just in case .

We let the girls on my summer team use the excuse "ear infection"...its easier that way especially for some of the younger girls, so they dont have to tell us. And we accept that as an excuse

Just tell them you are on your monthly. You should also tell them that you don't trust tampons. They will understand, trust me.
I hope really this helps! Good luck!

Why skip swimming? When you get into the water, you period stops for the time that you remain in the water (don't ask me why....) i felt the same way as you did until somone told me that and i tried it. Nothing happened (no red water, etc) and just get to the bathroom as soon as you can after you get out....good luck!
