There is NO excuse for what happened.
The St. Louis Cardinals simply played better baseball and won The World Series fair and square.
Some people will use that week off before the series started as an excuse, but that is nonsense.
The Tigers lost the World Series, and I am okay with it.
Yeah, how can I be okay with My Boys losing the WS?
Easy, I never expected them to get that far, and after 12 straight seasons under .500 all I was hoping for was 80-82 wins in '06.
And after losing 119 games in 2003, this season was a huge step forward.
The experience they gained in October will only made them stronger in the years to come.

Nothing happened that doesn't happen to every team that hasn't been there in a while. The spotlight of the big stage got to them. They had a good club and put your pennies on them to be back in the playoffs this up-coming year, the experience they got will only help them next time.As a NL man I have to admit that there are more quality teams in the AL but you still have to play the games. My Birds on the Bat had the experience of the big stage having been in 3 out of 4 NLCS and 2 WS.Winning against the Tigers was just icing on my cake
I've been through all those lean years as have the Tiger Fans, thats what makes you a real FAN sticking by your team win or lose.So look for the Tigers to be fighting Tooth & Claw in the up-coming year.I hope they get back there and get what every true tiger Fan dreams of and thats a World Championship.I also hope its a rematch so the true Tigers can show up and show the World that they can play baseball that they know there capable of.With the series going 7 games with the same result.Well I am a DIEHARD BIRDS on the BAT Fan.But I am also a Baseball fan first

There is only one reason with the occurance. The St. Louis Cardinals simply were the better team during the World Series. They played better. Even without Tony LaRussa "telling" on Kenny Rogers, they still lost the World Series. (Tigers) and it is only because the Cardinals were the better team this year. Congratulations to Jim Leyland though for winning the 2006 AL Manager of the Year, though.

It was a huge choke job. St. Louis has to be the worst World Series Champs of all time. Anyways, the Tigers made key mistakes which turned into runs and made those mistakes all series. It is like the entire team had a brain fart. They could not field the ball, they could not hit the ball, they could not run. Now, they got Sheff, andCasey came back. They'll be back to World Series soon enough.

I think you should have asked this question just a little bit earlier but anyways I have no idea. The tigers just flat out did not play as well as they had during the regular season and the first two series of the playoffs.

That Cardinals club had some experience that the Tigers was lacking. I don't know that you can say anything other than the Tigers just got beat. I really hated to see that too because I can't stand the Cardinals. I hope to see the Tigers do well next season also.

There pitchers struggled. They made key errors. Also the Cards starting pitching performed better than expected. There bullpen was light out for the whole of the playoffs. The Tigers will learn from the experience I am sure. They will be there or there abouts for the next few years I think.

yeah, but had the tigers lost to the yankees in the AL playoffs or to the mets in the world series, his answer would be the polar opposite of what he responded with now.
